Doctors Access Hardware/Software Requirements

The following are the recommended minimum computer system requirements for running Doctors Access:

Workstation or Stand-Alone System

• PC running XP Professional Service Pack 2 (NOT XP HOME)
• A Pentium IV / 500 MHz processor or better (not Celeron)
• 512 MB of RAM / 1GB or more recommended
• 40 GB hard disk or greater
• VGA monitor (640 x 480 resolution), set to high color
• 56 K Modem (on at least one machine) US Robotics recommended
• CD-ROM drive (CD-RW recommended for Backup on at least one machine)

Server Configuration (For running from a Network Server)

• PC running XP Pofessional Service Pack 2 (NOT XP HOME)
• A 1 GHz Pentium IV processor or better (not Celeron)
• 512 MB of RAM / 1GB or greater recommended
• 40 GB hard disk or greater
• VGA monitor (640 x 480 resolution) set to high color
• 56 K Modem (on at least one machine) US Robotics recommended
• CD-ROM drive (CD-RW recommended for Backup on one machine)

Tablet PCs (for EMR)

• Above workstation requirements
• Windows XP Tablet Edition only (Service Pack 2)
• 512 MB RAM or higher recommended

Internet Explorer 6 or 7

• 128-bit encryption enabled
• .doctorsaccess.com set as a Trusted Site
• Configured to accept and use ActiveX controls

Additional Software

• Adobe Acrobat Reader for workstations printing reports
• Microsoft Word 2003 or 2007 for workstations printing HCFA claim forms, statements, and/or letters
• Microsoft Excel 2003 or 2007 for workstations exporting reports
• Tablets: Microsoft Word 2003 (Service Pack 1 or higher) or 2007 for ink support

Printer

• Laser printer for all reports, statements, forms, and CMS 1500’s

Backup

• Please purchase CD-R discs for PCs with CD-RW drive
• CD-RW, ZIP drive, or USB Memory Stick
